Have you noticed the TV ads recently from the major home improvement stores? It's time to plant ... flowers!
Nothing wrong with that, I love flowers and are necessary for attracting beneficial insects to our gardens and for keeping bad bugs away from veggies but you can't survive off flowers.
It's fruits and vegetables that we need to be growing more of.
The word is getting out; and people are experiencing higher fruit and
vegetable prices in the grocery stores.
I have the feeling that lots of people are just 'putting up with it' because they feel they have no choice. You do have a choice. If you feel you don't, then I am probably right in thinking that you are relying too much on packaged foods and don't know what to do with fruits and vegetables.
There are thousands of websites and TV shows showing us how to cook with fruits and vegetables. This is a great website: www.go-raw-lose-weight.com which is all about eating a healthy, balanced diet of fruit and veggies ... talk about being good for you, and a great way to lose excess weight.
Back to the TV shows: for some strange reason, these shows still seem like it's not something you can or will actually do on a daily basis. These shows are just for entertainment! We need to take action!
This site is dedicated to helping all who wish to help themselves by getting a jump-start on preparing for higher food prices brought on by massive inflation brought about by the excessive printing (or digital) monetizing of our nation's debt ... and the drought and wildfire situations across the US, not to mention the tornado devastation.
And deadly diseases that may have us quarantined in our own homes (or camps!) Our thoughts go out to all who are suffering in these disasters - past, present, and future.
I recently visited a super lady named Betty, who is a good friend of my mothers. The photo shows Betty with her super parrot named Harley!
Betty takes care of nine fabulous parrots and is starting to grow her own fruits and vegetables.
I had to go visit, because for some strange reason I was of the opinion that you can't grow 'stuff' in Florida because it's too hot ... well, Betty surely proved me wrong!

As you may know, I have my Survival Seed container sitting on my
desk, and I'm now in the planning stages of where to put my garden –
our property is visited by wild hogs, deer, rabbits, a donkey, and a
huge black bull – so I'll have to fence it off. More to come on that! To read more about what it's like to live on acreage, check out this book, available at Amazon.com called Living On Acreage: Experiences of a Former City Slicker
