Good Intentions

Welcome - to issue 12 of
Easy Food Dehydrating Depot!

OK, we're halfway through January as I send this out, so it's a little late to say "Happy New Year" but I'll say it anyway: "Happy New Year!" and let's hope that 2012 is better than 2011.

It's also the beginning of New Year's Resolutions and I hope your good intentions are still intact and are motoring along!

2012 also marks a major upgrade in this website's host's software ... so in the coming months you'll notice changes in the layout and specifically the homepage artwork etc. Don't forget, if you ever get the urge to have a website of your very own, click on any of the footers on our pages and check out SBI (Site Build-It).

They've been around for years, and continue to put out top-notch easy-to-use web-page building software - that even I can use!

It's definitely SOUP weather, so check out our easy-to-make soups on our Recipe Page and get some hot soupy goodness in you - it warms you up from head to toe!

Another way to keep warm: Play Musical Chairs -- just like our GOP players are doing ... one of the candidates rises to the top of the heap, only to be swatted down and have the chair pulled away; makes you wonder if any one of them will be able to get this country back on its feet. It's time the politicians stopped playing games with our tax dollars -- we have to stick to budgets at home so 'they' need to do the same in Washington. It's only fair.

Florida Gardening ... continued

Well, I'm not happy to report that I lost my white potato, it was growing really well, then yellow leaves appeared ... it was here one day, then just about gone the next. Which leads me to believe you need to plant more than ONE! LOL

The sweet potatoes are doing well, though we are going to have some freezing weather heading our way tonight, so I'll report back here and let you know how they fared. OK, first almost-freeze of the year over with, and the sweet potatoes did well! But it ain't over yet ...

We'll send out via RSS all the gardening updates. Please feel free to send in your comments to help me 'do it right'!

Warming Apple Sauce

Check out our latest recipe:

Click on this: Apple Sauce in the desserts section.

Talk about a quick, easy, and delicious apple sauce to make, equally good poured warm over vanilla icecream as it is on a thick slice (or two) of roast pork!

Don't forget you can use your dehydrated apples for this sauce, along with your dehydrated raisins and cranberries!

Simply rehydrate a handful of the raisins and berries, and two handfuls of apples, and away you go!

Send In Your Recipe Creations!

We welcome your recipe creations -- all we ask is that at least one ingredient in your recipe is from dehydrated food.

You'll be creating your very own page on this site, and be proud to share it with your friends!

Click on this: Share a Favorite Recipe. This takes you to our Easy Recipe Page where you can fill out a simple form to share your creation with us -- please send us pictures too! :-) The recipes with photos will be listed in the main body of the recipe listings page!
