DO NOT BUY THE UPRIGHT VERSION of the FoodSaver (unless they have fixed it with newer models)!!
This is an amazing machine because they have thought of a lot (such as the pull-out vac hose for vac sealing mason jars (SO COOL!) and the built-in bag cutter) BUT this version uses a SENSOR to make it vacuum a FoodSaver bag. IT MAKES YOU WASTE about 2-3 inches of bag on BOTH ENDS because you have to slide the bag WAY IN to get it to recognize the bag. Makes the company look SO greedy...
HOWEVER, having said all this, I WILL buy another FoodSaver; only it will NOT be an upright (which, before I bought it, I thought upright was such a good idea). I will just make sure I get a commercial version with the vac hose & attachments -- THAT will be a good buy.
